Hi, I’m Graham.

I’m glad you found your way here.

I created Shifted Minds as a space for late-diagnosed ADHDers and autistic adults, especially those of us who spent years succeeding publicly while quietly wondering why everything felt harder, heavier, or more exhausting than it seemed for everyone else.

I write, I coach, and I help neurodivergent adults make sense of their minds so they can build lives that actually fit.

The part of the story you might recognise

For most of my life, I felt as if I was sprinting uphill while everyone else was walking. I could run global teams and solve complex problems, yet the everyday things drained me. Remembering tasks. Managing emotion. Understanding sudden overwhelm. Feeling too much or not enough.

If any of this sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

The moment everything changed

My turning point came after yet another burnout, the kind that does not stop you in a gentle way. It empties you. In that quiet collapse I realised something important. This should not keep happening.

Being diagnosed as ADHD and autistic in adulthood finally gave me the missing chapters of my own story. The masking, the coping, the burnout, the brilliance, the confusion. All of it made sense.

It was not failure.

It was misunderstood neurology.

It was a lifetime of working against myself.

Finding a way forward

From that moment I began rebuilding my life from the inside out. I learned what my brain actually needed. I unmasked slowly. I found new ways of planning, pacing, and understanding emotion that did not rely on shame or willpower.

What emerged became the foundations of my coaching approach. Strategies that work with ADHD and autism, not against them.

The paradoxes that come with living with Autism and ADHD need a different and personalised approach, taking into account the unique processing styles of this amazing neurotype.

Why I do this work now

Today I help hundreds of neurodivergent adults navigate their own journeys. Not by telling them who to be, but by helping them understand who they already are.

I am a Managing Director and Tech Fellow at BlackRock with 30 years in finance and engineering leadership. I am a certified ADHD coach through ADHD Works, and I am involved in workplace neurodiversity advocacy. The most important qualifier is lived experience. I know what it feels like to lose yourself inside a life that looks successful on the outside, and I know what it takes to rebuild with clarity, compassion, and self trust.

What people often tell me after working together

“I finally understand myself.”

“I am not fighting my brain anymore.”

“I am finally able to get stuff done that I have never been able to.”

“I have made more progress in three months than in ten years.”

Coaching is not about fixing you. It is about noticing patterns, creating strategies that fit your brain, and lifting the weight of self judgment.
